Christmas DIY #1

GUYS. I literally could not be more excited right now. 9 days left till Christmas strikes! *screaming, running around the room* Today I have a very special Christmas DIY for you! It is a Whipped Peppermint Sugar Scrub!Peppermint-Sugar-Scrub-cover

The author of The Idea Room, Amy, has kindly permitted me to use her pictures and ideas! btw, her pictures are absolutely stunning, as you can see! It looks like it’s edible; it’s so fluffy and pink and amazing and.. okay, enough of me talking. Let’s get into the DIY!

This is what you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil ( make sure it’s solid! you don’t want it in a liquid form, but not in a rock hard form either)
  • 1/4 cup of sugar (sugar = my face starts smiling like crazy)
  • 1/4 cup of pink sugar ( to do this, mix 1/4 cup of sugar and a drop of red food coloring)
  • 5-6 drops of peppermint essential oil. Obviously you know why you need this.

Step 1. Make the 1/4 cup of pink sugar! Mix it with your fingers. Set it aside.

Step 2. In a medium bowl, combine the white sugar and the solid coconut oil with a hand mixer or a stand mixer. Beat it until it turns into a smooth paste.

Step 3. Continue to beat it until it turns into a fluffy and light mixture.

Step 4. Carefully fold in the pink sugar mix. This will give your scrub a beautiful pastel pink color! Which is like my dream come true…

this color is my absolute favorite. ever.
*note* make sure you scoop this scrub with clean hands!

And… voila! There you have it! A wonderful, whipped peppermint sugar scrub. Amy has even created these labels in a pdf format so that we can use them! Click here to get them for free! This scrub is a great gift to give to your mom, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, etc, etc. (although you might not want to give it to your guyfriend…he might not know how to use it)

I hope you enjoyed! HUGE shout out Amy for these awesome pictures and this great idea! Make sure to check out Amy’s website for more amazing posts!

signing off~
