The Birth of Thee Adventurette

I started my blog about 2 1/2 years ago, in September of 2014. I vividly remember being inspired by Malala’s story of using her blog and writing to reach out to struggling girls all over the world. I wanted to be able to do that – to at the very least, inspire my readers and make them smile. Hopefully, I’ve been able to accomplish that :) Thee Adventurette started out as “Live. Laugh. Love.” and evolved over the years. I wouldn’t be here without my faithful readers! xx

Advice for New Bloggers

hmm, this might be a little difficult. If you are a new blogger, I encourage you to blog about your passions. Don’t think that you have to conform to the mainstream in order to get likes and views – that shouldn’t be the reason why you are blogging in the first place! If you truly care about something, you shouldn’t care about other people’s negative opinions on it. Just keep blogging regularly, interact with your readers, and be yourself! cliche advice, I know – but trust me, it works.

Day 16: rant.

Insecurities.

why do they even exist? why do they torment my mind at all hours and moments of the day. of my life? they destroy not only my confidence, but everyone else’s self-confidence.

insecurities are always pressuring us to look like others, act like others, listen to the same songs as others.

we should be allowed to love ourselves. after all, we are God’s masterpieces. insecurities, you shouldn’t be allowed to destroy us from the inside out. I’m tired of not being tall enough, not being skinny enough, not being fit enough, not cool enough, not pretty enough. I’m just tired of not being enough. it takes all of 3 seconds to compare ourselves with others. society is constantly slapping us with images of how we should look and behave. give us freedom to be ourselves, to embrace ourselves for who we really are. honestly guys, let the haters hate. you are beautiful. you are strong. you are worth it. God has brought you through everything that you thought you wouldn’t get through. you’ll live.

you’ll be okay, and it’s perfectly fine to cry. it’s okay to spend sleepless nights. fall in love with yourself, and fall in love with Him. you are His unbelievably precious, precious masterpiece. He loves you, and I do too. sorry this post was long, but it was needed.

Dream Job:

I’d love to spend my life helping others. That’s the highest, purest form of human happiness isn’t it?

I’ve always loved the medical field – the thought of helping to change other people’s lives in little and big ways has always thrilled me. Recently this year, I had an opportunity to volunteer at a three day, free health clinic that was held in Los Angeles. It was amazing to see how many different kinds of people needed help and to see how desperately they needed it! Definitely one of my most favorite memories ever.

So there’s my dream job – kind of obscure, but at least I have an idea lol.

I want to witness for God by helping to change other people’s lives in the medical field :D If that doesn’t work out, I pray that I’m willing to follow His plan for me.

30 Day Blogging Challenge – Day 1

dream big. dream hard.
I’ve decided to do a blogging challenge to make up for my lack of posts lately. I’ll be using the prompt from the promptarium, but doing it backwards to put a spin on it haha. Enjoy!

Day 1: What are your goals for your blog?

hmm, my goals. I want to create a safe haven for people on the Internet – people who are tired, discouraged, or just want to relax. I want people to be inspired by my blog and to learn lessons from it. When they receive a published post in their email or in their feed, I want them to smile. And finally, most importantly, Thee Adventurette is and will always be dedicated for the glory of God. Dream big, work hard.

💕

A Tribute.

September 12, 2014.

This was the day that my blog was launched. I was inspired to start a blog when I learned about the story of Malala, a girl who used her blog to reach out to people and educate others. I wanted to do that too. And so, livelaughsurf12.wordpress.com was born. Over the years, it has gone through numerous blog names, site adjustments, and even a site address change. Today, Thee Adventurette stands in its little corner among the other fabulous websites of the Internet.

Almost 2 years have passed since my very first post was published. No matter how long you’ve been following me, just know that you mean the absolute world to me and I feel so honored to have 100 supporters at my side. I know that 100 supporters might not seem like a lot to some of you, but to me, it’s completely mind-blowing.

*throws confetti and sparklers everywhere*

Thank you all so, so SO MUCH for all your love and support! I love you all from here to the next galaxy and back.

The Huntington Library

A few days ago I visited the Huntington Library in LA! It is largely famous, not only for its books but also for its gorgeous botanical garden. Yup, we are continuing the LA theme from The Broad Museum :) If you haven’t read it yet, you can click on the link right here: The Broad Museum. Enjoy the pictures I got with my trusty Nikon! Also, I tried a new photo formatting – do you like it?

btw, the Chinese Garden had a bunch of places with food…that might be the reason why I was there for quite a long time u_u

Look closely at what this person put as their dream job in the 1910s :)

I hope you liked this post, and I definitely recommend going to the Huntington Library whenever you’re in LA! They have a variety of gardens and exhibits that could take all day to enjoy. It’s a great place to get away from the city and yet be in the city at the same time lol..It’s also a really good way to get exercise *cough* I walked about 5 miles in a few hours. If you go to the H, tag your post with #AtTheH so I can see them! Love you all~

That Girl Over There

I’m Still Alive.

HELLOOOOOOO!!!! Ahem. *clears throat* Hello. I’ve been somewhat “dormant” the past few weeks and I’m so sorry. I have been gathering inspiration for my blog (“yeah sure, ‘gathering inspiration’, really?”)and I have some cool posts (at least I think they’re cool) in my drafts begging me to publish them. I promise you I will!
Anyways, the fall/near winter weather has been good to me for photography! There was a pretty sunset today and I dragged my sister outside to be my photographer *wink wink*
